How to Tag People on Facebook?

Should I Post Traveling To Facebook?

We recommend not sharing this information publicly.

We do not recommend sharing information publicly since you do not desire to advertise your absence from home for security reasons.

What Things Should You Do on Facebook While Still on a Vacation?

Don’t Updates Status While Still on A Vacation

One of the mistakes you can make is publishing anything about your vacation while you’re still on it.

The bad guys can see your vacation post and know that you are far from home, making your house a target for plundering.

Posting Vacation updates will give thieves ample time to plan and break into your house. They know that you won’t be home in time.

It is also not safe even if you only allow your friends to see your posts. Your friend may be reading your updates in a public area without knowing that a stranger is peeking from behind them.

How To Unblock A Member From A Facebook Group?

Avoid Post Pictures While on Vacation

Publicizing an image of the decadent dessert you are about to enjoy while at one fancy restaurant on your vacation might give away your location.

So you will provide your friends and strangers with your location, depending on the existing privacy settings.

Avoid Tag Other Vacationers While They Are Still on Vacation

Avoid tagging others in your status updates or pictures while still on holiday.

When you travel with your family or friends, avoid tagging them in status updates or pictures while still on holiday.

Tagging them may publicize their and your current location, while they might not want this information broadcast for the same reasons we mentioned above.

Instead, you should wait until you and everyone are at to tag them later (you should ask them about this).

You can keep details from being broadcast via tagging by other users by turning on the Facebook tag review.

Never Post Your Upcoming Travel Plans

It is also not advisable to publicize your upcoming travel plans and itineraries on Facebook. It will allow bad guys and criminals to know your schedule, creating favorable conditions for them to plan to break into your home.

The Bottom Line

Thanks to the “Traveling To” option that Facebook has added, you can share with your friends about your travel plans to increase engagement.

However, we don’t recommend this, as bad guys can use that information to make plans to break into your house while you’re far from home.

Oversharing on social networks, including FaceBook, can be risky. If you don’t want to give out your vacation plans to a pool of strangers, you should wait to share your trips on Facebook until you are at home.

Always be careful about what you post on social media! Thanks for your time!
